Awards
Students who enter the Alaska Science & Engineering Fair have the opportunity to win a wide range of awards.
International Science an Engineering Fair
As an Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF)-affiliated fair, high school students are competing for local and national awards and prizes, including the top award: a trip to the Intel ISEF where they will compete for approximately four million dollars in scholarships and prizes. Middle school students will be eligible for local and national awards and prizes, and elementary students are eligible for local awards and prizes.
Project Ribbons
All students will receive a 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, or honorable mention ribbon. The place given to the project is based upon the judging rubric for the level being judged. There may be multiple first place awards or there may be no first place awards. Please take a look at the appropriate judging rubric to see how projects will be scored.
Category Winners
Sixth grade students may compete in either the elementary or middle school category. They must choose one or the other when registering their project with the fair. Click here for 6th grade entry help
